Sabotaged by the menu – part 2

Yesterday, I posted a meme reel on how a McPuff never breaks cleanly. The reel got the average engagement that I am getting on Instagram currently.

But a few school and college friends reached out.

McDonald’s pizza Mc Puff was a novelty for us 90s kids when the parcel-type dishes were unheard of. Before wraps and baos came and stole the limelight, it was this Pizza McPuff that we relished with gusto.

It costed Rs. 20 till 2012 I guess. I’m not mentioning the cost after that year not because it began increasing but because I abandoned McDonald’s altogether for the fancy resto-bars.

It now costs Rs. 49 as per the menu listed on Zomato so the cost has not appreciated much in the past 13 years. But as one of my friends pointed out yesterday, the filling has become lesser and the outer covering thicker.

The McPuff I remember had a thin and crunchy outer covering that sneakily hid the lava hot pizza topping-like filling inside. I don’t know whether it was just me, but I always burnt my mouth while having it. And when I say my mouth, I mean my whole tongue and the whole jaw. I was incapable of tasting what followed. 🤣

But if you got through this “lava-test”, then the reward was sweet or rather a melee of flavours. Finely chopped carrots and capsicum in a thick spicy tomato sauce that just warms your inside more than your first love. 😍

No pun intended here please! 🤌🏻😅

The other friend asked me for a recipe of the McPuff. I told her that this is a meme reel and not a recipe one. It will take me another birth to learn or even predict the recipe as I am still keeping myself away from baking breads. Or maybe I do not have the aptitude for baking. 😜
